Hi, Jaenee here!
We recently hosted an event where we gathered to share a meal, learn, and pray together. Our good friends, Mark and Shell Cowper-Smith of Gathering Place Church, introduced us to the practice of abiding prayer. Our time together was an eye-opener for me. Through events like these, I’m pushed to reexamine my assumptions about prayer, and I’m discovering how God designed prayer to be an agent of real-time transformation of my heart and my mind.

For a series of four Thursdays, Mark and Shell will be hosting a deeper dive into the practice of contemplative prayer. If you’re wondering who this training is useful for, I would answer with a resounding “EVERYONE!” I truly believe that more than ever, in today’s distracted world, these tools can keep us much more grounded, open, and aware of God’s continual call into genuine relationship and kingdom work with him.
If you sense God calling you to seek him more deeply in your prayer life, I highly encourage you to attend this training. I’m excited to see how the Holy Spirit might shift perspectives and even change lives throughout these four sessions. I hope you’ll join us!

Jaenee Cajudo, I would love to hear an update on how you are doing with what you learned and the now your prayer encounters with God.
HI Agatha, God is continuing to teach and transform me through prayer! Over the past several months I’ve seen how prayer can change my perspective and posture in real time. By stopping and dwelling on God’s goodness and sovereignty, my prayer time becomes a time for me to feel his peace, clarity, joy, and hope–all transformed out of whatever emotions I might have been feeling moments before: anger, loneliness, anxiousness, etc. Sometimes I start off the prayer completely frazzled and speechless, and by the end, my prayer time has turned into a session of praising God for the bigger perspective he has available for me that I was too distracted to see due to my my own self-centeredness.
